Does anyone know how to find out the last owner of a vehicle? I would like to know the backround of the F250 I just bought. I know it is a one owner truck from New York.
Unless the dealer you bought it from discloses the information it is unlikely you will find out. Nowadays with privacy laws it is unlikely that they will disclose that info.
If you all you want is warranty history, get an oasis report done. See the top of the Super Duty forum for instructions on how to request one.
WWWest, funny that you say that, and in fact on the oasis that you get it some times has the original owners name on it, and being a one owner vehicle he would have that info. That being said, I would not enjoy a new owner of my previous car calling me and asking for info. Now if the dealer they traded to had called me and asked questions for the new owner, that is a different story, and I have had that happen. (but I do live in a small town)
I ran a carfax report also; that is how I found out the one owner and the oasis did not track last owner info. As for calling the previous owner, I would have no problem speaking to the new owner of a vehicle I just traded in or sold. I have had a few calls on old vehicles and was happy to answer any questions new owner had. I would have just asked why he sold/traded; any issues he was aware of and items he serviced on vehicle.
