trailer brake plug

has anyone connected their own trailer brake plug under the dash. 09 xlt supercrew 5.4. I have looked as best as I could but I could not see it. I saw the diagnostic plug and a small plug high up above the emergencey brake.Neither one is the right size for the pigtail that came with truck. part # 9L3T-14A348-AC
Any help gratefully accepted.

I've read a few posts that said its actually plugged into the back of the little storage bin where the factory controller goes. I have the factory controller so I cant check that.

your trailer control plug is on the back side of the small compartment where the factory control is to go. It is hard to see but it is there. took me awhile to find it.

BTW,

I was able to install my Prodigy controller IN the "dash pocket" that the plug was connected to. I removed the plastic "cup", drilled the back out with a uni-bit for the wiring, then screwed the Prodigy to the sides of the "cup" and reinstallled everything. It doesn't look as clean as the factory controller, but it looks a LOT better than a kick panel or bolster mounting and it's very easy to use as well. Not factory, but darn close!!!!!!

I wonder, can we order the factory part at a reasonable price?
