i was given a hyper tech programmer III today . from a friend who sold his truck.
i was wondering if anyone knew if it might fit my truck. my truck is a 2002 f-250 4x4 .
the programmer is a hyper tech programmer III the box says its for a 2000 f-series 7.3 part number is 41001
i dont really need a programmer, chip,or tunner. but have been kicking around the ideal. this might give me an idea how one might effect my truck before i buy one.
is this an ok product or a waist of time.
thanks again for the help
2000 model year hypertech should be
"2000 FORD F-250 SUPER DUTY PICKUP V8 7.3L DIESEL FI Turbo
Part #41039"
2002 model year hypertech should be
"2002 FORD F-350 SUPER DUTY PICKUP V8 7.3L DIESEL FI Turbo
Part #41040"
I would call hypertech and ask a tech there. The edge programmers do from 99-03. Not sure if it would be an issue on the hypertech or not. The different part numbers make you think they would. I got that info from their website.

Do yourself a favor, sell it on eBay and use the money to get in on the DP Tuner sale Then you will wonder why you ever uttered the words "i dont really need a programmer, chip,or tunner"
Hook it up it will tell you if its not the right model. And you have nothing to loose trying it out. It will make a big difference in the performance of the truck. Who knows you may like it.
thanks guys ill hook it up some time tonight.
between 2 kids in baseball ,working overtime, and im the president of the masonic lodge here in my home town. its hard to find time to do the stuff i need to do much less the things i would like to. ball games tonight and i just got called to come in to work tomorow to weld busted steam piping.
but thank God ive got a job to go to.
anyway thanks again.
and clay im thinking maybe on some more parts from you, like the new spider from cfm and boots.
Too bad you werent closer, I would give you an edge evolution to try out. You should seriously consider putting gauges in before any changes of programming IMO
i think i saw one of the dp tunners that has some screen info like egt and boost. will this show what a set of gauges would. or do i just need to install the gauges
If it has egts, youll still need to install a pyro probe. No way of telling without. If it has EGTs and boost and trans, thats all you should need. Actually the most important is pyro, followed by trans. Boost is more of a troubleshooting tool. I myself, would hate a digital gauge.
