Am I missing something?

Take a look at the photo and tell me if I'm missing a gasket/weather strip on my hatch. Note the empty holes at the bottom of the hatch. Do you folks have any thing in that area? Just curious as it looks as if I'm missing something. Thanks for the assistance.

mine has those also. i think they are "weep" holes to let water / moisture out. my old bronco did not have these and it ended up with tailgate cancer along the bottom.

Thanks for the responses. So maybe I'm not missing anything after all.

I can certainly understand the weep hole theory.

Appreciate the feedback. Rep points for all.

Thanks for clearing that up! I surmised that there would be wear marks on the lower doors from a missing seal if it had been lost. But it's nice to get a confirmation.

The two holes that are directly below the black handle trim (in the top picture) should each have a rubber bumper. You can see them in Joe's photo. They constantly fall out and need to be secured with silicone (or similar).
