Question 351 heads...

i know this dosent belong here but the cleveland is in one forum and the winsor is in another....

is it possible to get cleveland heads to fit my Winsor block? 4v or the 2v. i have a 78 winsor with decent intake valves but the exhaust valves are downright tiny!

well if i had to and the bolts lined up more or less right... i'd just re-tap the threads on the bolts... drill it and tap it... but i hate to do that on some expensive heads...

Possible it is, expensive it will be, worth it probably not. Do some more research there's lots out there about it, probably more on stangnet than here.

I think you can get the heads to bolt up but a think the problem is with the intake . Im not sure but i heard someone makes a intake for it . But you can get alot of 351w heads with bigger valves . Lew

Yeah personnnally I would just look into a set of aftermarket heads if thats what your really looking for and you could probably sell the cleveland heads for a decent chunk of change that would make a pretty good dent into your aftermarket heads.

Cleveland heads will bolt up,but the water passages have to be moved, plus you need a special intake for it.the windsor's have the thermostat in the intake manifold, the Cleveland and modified thermostat is in the timing chain cover.i think edelbrock has some heads called clevor heads, that bolt up with out mods and give you the benefits of the Cleveland heads.it would be cheaper to get your heads machined for larger valves.if you decide to go with cleveland heads use the 2v heads, you will have better low end torque.4v heads were not really street freindy, threy were designed for high rpms.be carefull as well, there are guys that will try to sell you modified heads and tell you they are clevelands.

plus this link you posted awhile ago has some more info on it
