98 ranger Trans issue

98 ranger Trans issue
Have 1998 ranger 4cyl with automatic. Whenever it gets above 60 the OD light flashes. It goes into limp mode. Had a similar problem with my E4OD but not as familiar with this trans.

Go a little further down the list of topics on this board and you will find a section under:
"Misc" for "clutch, transmission, differential, axle and transfer case"
You should get a lot more traffic on your question.
I don't have a good answer for your question, but just general transmission info. Check the fluid for odor, color and full condition. If it is dark and burned smelling, you likely have internal problems causing overheating, or the fluid has a lot of miles without changing. If the level is low, top it off, which you probably have already done.
