rear diff seal leaking

I have a 98 F150 4x4 with around 200,000 miles. My rear diff seal is leaking by the driveshaft, i know a good bit about vehicles but dont really have a wide selection of tools. I was just wondering if it would be better to take it to the shop or if its easy enough to figure out and take it on myself. Anyhelp would be great cause time is runnin out the more i drive and the more it leaks.

I would recommend you take it to a shop. You need a good selection of tools and be familar with working on axles to do it right.

You need a impact gun. drop the shaft, remove the yoke nut, replace the seal and run the yoke nut back down. i have done probably 25 or so with no problems. but you need a gun to remove the yoke nut.
