this is from the manual
1-For optimum calibration, turn off all non-essential electrical accessories (rear window defrost, heater/air conditioning, map lamps, wipers, etc.) and make sure all doors are shut.
2-Drive to an open, level area away from large metallic objects or structures and high voltage lines.
3-Press both buttons for 6 to 8 seconds until CAL is displayed.
4-Release both buttons and drive slowly in a circle until CAL disappears from the display (about 2 to 3 circles).
The compass is now calibrated.
I suppose that it did not fix its self. I had to run the circles again. But when I held the buttons in for 8 count ZONE came up. I don't know whatZONE Pittsburgh PA is. So I just punched in ZONE 12.. Shut the EX off and restarted and the direction came up on the readout. Is there always a box around the direction? If I am in the wrong ZONE could someone who has a book tell me the right one. Thanks
I think that mine is set to Zone 12 but If it's like avaition thats only a few degrees off. Probably sets on magnetic north.I think PA are like 7 degrees off magnetic north. Its close enough, cause the GPS switches direction at the same time. But I'll set it to 8 in the morning. Thanks guys
