Quick ATF question!!
Okay... I need to service my tranny as I am unsure of the miles since last service. I got the filter and about 8 quarts of Mercon V. Then I found out about draining the TC and figured it needs more! So, my buddy gave me a case of Dexron III/Mercon.
My question... can I mix the two, Mercon V and Dexrom III/Mercon??? I am dumb when it comes to these fluids. Also would rather spending another $50 for 10 more quarts of ATF!

Some tips on changing the fluid.
You can disconnect the fluid line from the rear of the transmission and lead it to a bucket with a 5/16 plastic tube. Then run the engine until the fluid runs out. That lets you drop the pan without dealing with 12 quarts in the pan.
After you dump the pan, drain the TC by pulling the plug. Disconnect the front cooler line and then blow compressed air into the front cooler fitting on the transmission. This will blow out the pump and the passages to the TC. Then blow out the cooler, and finally blow out the lube passages by blowing into the rear cooler return. Doing this will get a LOT more fluid out than just draining the pan and TC.
