ok, i'm seriously thinking of buying this.... seriously. what does everyone think? need to get it running. its been for sale for about 15 years, i can buy it for 500 bucks, it ran when it was parked 15yrs ago. the guy i talked to said he hasnt seen the title in a few years. i asked him what it was and all he said was a GMC. but what is it?
GMC built these coaches from 1973 through 1979. Most were built as private motorhomes and were either 23 or 26 feet long. They were powered with Oldsmobile Toronado engines with front transaxles. The rear tandem suspension was an air ride system which gave a very smooth ride.
The one pictured here was built as a shuttle bus for use in some sort of commercial capacity. These units have a pretty strong and loyal following.
It could have also been used to bus the hany capped, is that a ramp on the side of it, just a guess on my part. There used to be buses like that transporting special needs people to hospitals and schools, etc.in the Toronto area where I grew up.
John
its a big glass door on the side. i told my dad where that thing is sitting... he said the old airport is about 5 minutes away from where that things at.(20 min from my house)
i just dont know how i can get it to my house. its not far, but its big, and i've got a steep driveway.

Exactly what rpol7966 and the rest of you said. it's one of the best riding motorhomes built and are fairly popular in certain areas. The could be purchased from a GM dealer in their day.
