I have an 87 F250 with a 5.0 4 speed. Recently put new GT40 heads on and the truck ran fine for a good month or so before i blew the clutch hose. Got it running after that and now when i go to drive it coolant starts to pour out of the overflow tank after only minutes of running. If anybody had some ideas it would be greatly appreciated!
Check your thermostat. That's so important. And back flush your motor and radiator. My water temp gauge was bouncing up and down before I did the above. Now it stays solid (N)ormal. Also replacing you heater hoses would help also. My 2.93 cents. lol
Fill the radiator right up to the neck and run the engine. Look for a steady stream of bubbles and smell for exhaust fumes. This should tell you if you possibly have a blown head gasket. To confirm do a compression check.

Is the truck overheating when the coolant overflows from the coolant reservoir? Does the temperature gauge show overheating? Have you pressure tested the cooling system??
