That O/D light blink is the computer telling something is wrong with the transmission. You need to get the codes read. It could be as simple as the VSS sensor or a bad tranny. Mine was a bad MLPS(use to be called a Neutral safety switch). Check the MLPS which is on the drivers side of the trans pan. Unplug the connector and see if a bunch of crap falls out. If so your connector posts are shot. Get a new one at ford. If your speedo is not working its your VSS on the top of the rear pumpkin. But you really should get the codes read. Then come back here and with the codes everone can give you a better fix. Good Luck

Before doing any checks you really need to have the codes read. There are about 50 things that can make the OD light flash. Trying to fix this without the code is going to be very difficult.
