I have a 2008 F250 King Ranch. The truck has 16,xxx miles. I purchased it new July 2008. I have always used Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner on the interior, seemingly with no issues, since new.
Over the past couple months, I noticed the top of the leather wrapped steering wheel was starting to discolor. I figured it was just dirt or oil from my hands. When it would rain, I would also see some what I now know to be the leather dye on my hands. Today while I was cleaning the truck, I noticed the dye on the leather wipes. Closer inspection of the steering wheel revealed the dye is starting to wear off. The leather is gray without the dye. I use the same wipes on the seats and arm rest with no problems.
Has any one else seen this?
I am headed to the dealership tomorrow for a turbo issue, but I am going to point the steering wheel out and hopefully Ford will replace it.
I personally wouldnot have a king ranch for just that reason, the leather in my opinion is way too dark and does not seem to hold up well, all the "used" king ranches i have seen for sale have considerable wearing and light spots with little miles on em...so does not surprise me...
depending on mileage if you have an 08 it should be covered on your 3/36 warranty...
