interior trailer lights not working
I have a 05 powerstroke with towcommand and for some reason the interior trailer lights don't work unless the truck is on. I bought the trailer new in Feb but when I checked the truck was running, the trailer has a wet cell battery for the breakaway but I figured the lights would work off that even if unhooked. Any help?

I don't think the breakaway battery is used for anything but just that--activating the trailer brakes when the pin is pulled. You wouldn't want to drain that battery in case it is ever needed. You would have to have a separate 12-volt battery wired in to the charge circuit of the truck and to the light system--then you would have lights w/o the truck. I have never seen a trailer with interior lights that didn't have a regular 12-volt battery, but I sure ain't seen them all.

Thanks I really wasn't sure if it was suppose to run off that battery or not. I really don't use the interior lights just wanted to find out if thats hows it's suppose to be. The battery is a 12v but it is small, probably the size like a garden tactor battery.
