Diesel vs. Gasser

- Less low end torque, engine has to rev up higher to get same power.
- Less stink, less noise and vibration, hard to tell when it's running
- Can't use truck stop monster pumps, takes longer to fill tank
- Weighs a lot less, so doesn't sink as much on soft soil, stops faster, doesn't go through brakes as fast.
- Don't have to wait for glow plugs to heat up at start, less time to drink coffee.
- Routine maintenance doesn't take as long, have to get back to work sooner.
- No bonus cigarette breaks when ECU decides it's time to start a regen cycle right when you're parking.
That's about all I can think of...

Gas vs. Diesel is like Ohio St. vs. Michigan, Georgia vs. Florida, Yankees vs. Red Sox.

your askin for a war here but if your company should be fine, if you get low enough gears on it maybe 4.88s, this is assuming these trucks are haulin some heavy loads but i figure thats why your getting 450s. you'll probably get better mpg from what i been hearing about the 6.4s mileage, but thats unloaded. v10 needs to run at higher rpms thats how its designed. its a good motor
another note i thought the 450 was only available with the 6.4 i didnt think you could get it with the v10

I have noticed that some townships and boroughs are getting rid of their diesels and buying v10's. Spoke with a Philadelphia city official and they also are going to the v10. My local borough no longer has diesel pick-ups of any brand.
As far as isssues there are none. Fuel mileage should not even be mentioned in a truck that heavy. As was mentioned earlier get the 4.88 gears.
As far as complaints, when it is brand new it will feel sluggish but at about 5,000 miles it will wake up, you will notice it.
Get in, put it in drive, sit back, enjoy the ride.

The trannies and rear gears will last longer, because the guys who drive them things usually just put their foot to the floor and wait anyway
Seriously though, there should not be any issues.
The V10 is a proven workhorse that is very reliable when the oil is changed as recommended.
