Tranny temp gauge?

Tranny temp gauge?

My truck sat for a day and a half, started it to move into the back of my shop. I had it running for about 5-8 minutes, engine temp gauge just started to move, but the tranny gauge was already up to temp. Is this normal???? When I test drove the truck the gauge took a while to come up to temp.

Are we talking aftermarket gauges or the ones in the dash?

The factory gauge will do that in the middle of winter not even close to accurate.

Yeah, that factory gauge is just a switch. When it gets over something like 50 degrees, it shows normal. Above 230ish, it goes yellow, above 260 I think it goes read. By then it's too late. Your tranny will normally already look like this by the time the factory gauge goes red:
