I have a 2004 f-450 that died on me today and will not start. I believe it is starving for fuel. Where on this engine can a check fuel pressure. And what should the fuel pressure be?
What are the symptoms? How many miles? What did it do right before it died? I ask b/c mine, w/133k lost power and died and it ended up being the HPOP. Fuel bowl was full, so I figured it wasn't fuel- related, and it cranked fine just wouldn't fire. With the new HPOP, IPC and IPR along with the labor and misc stuff it cost me $2433.00 at the Ford dealer, my aftermarket warranty didn't cover it. F'in SOB's. Good luck, and at least a bump for ya.
Both filters have 311 miles on them ann if i dump some full in the fuel bowl it will run for a while and slowly, and i mean slowly start to lose power and die. Fuel Pump? Just thought it might be something simple.
If it runs when you dump fuel into the bowl then its not the HPOP as it wouldn't run at all. I'm assuming the upper fuel bowl is empty since you're adding fuel in order to make it run? If thats the case I would think fuel pump also. Can you hear the pump run when you turn on the key?

Are they OEM filters? There have been reports of fuel flow problems with "will fit" filters.
