Ok, this will be the third time..

This part needs replacing.. This time I'm being told (by the dealer) that they won't do it under warranty.. it's a cheap enough part, but they claim 5 hours of labor at $99/hour.. I don't think so..

Anyways, the part is:

Turbo Exhaust feed tube - 5C3Z6K854AA - $100.73

And supposedly this keeps "going bad" because of the aftermarket exhaust I have on my truck. They say the "downtube" is hitting this feed tube causing it to burn through..

Is this common??

According to the warranty. If the customer modifies the intake, exhaust, electronics etc on the 6.0 then warranty COULD be voided.

I would look at the exhaust with a mirror and see if it has been rubbing when the engine flexes on high torque. Good luck

Yeah, and now with Ford cracking down on EVERY warranty repair, they told me I could "try my luck at another dealer" , but they couldn't help me.

It's causing a serious smell (diesel exhaust fumes) in the cab while I'm driving and is making an annoying HISSING sound under the hood.

I know what caused the first one to go.. When we put the Magnaflow exhaust on I didn't use the muffler. Instead, I used the section of straight pipe that came with the kit (for the supercab). This made the system push forward slightly, causing the exhaust to run the turbo pipe.. This has since been resolved, but because I have the same exhaust system on my truck they won't touch it.

I'm thinking about swapping systems and going with something else anyways, so this might be a good time to do it.

Honestly, I just drove right up.. I had my daughter with me and some professional camera equiment (did a few pictures that day of my truck and my Vette). No one said boo...

They didn't even say anything about the sounding of the train horns

The weird part is (to me) it doesn't even look like my truck any more!!

Ok, sorry for hi-jacking my own thread.

Oh absolutely, yes. This ship hasn't seen active duty for quite some time. My grandfather worked on it (ship builder) for years, so it has some special meaning to me. I use this spot to take pictures of all my vehicles.. Haven't had my latest redneck purchase over there yet though.

Billet Badges | Welcome

The guy is amazing. These are pure billet, not the cheap crap Ford uses. They are IDENTICAL in size and have drawn more of a crowd then anything else I've done to the truck!!

It's on the tailgate, too
