390 total timing

390 total timing

I would like to know what a ball park figure for total timing on the 390 would be. Thanks.

I run up to 40* total timing in my FE's. Your set up might warrant less.

There are many variables. 35-38 is a safe range for the average engine combination, with todays poor fuel.
Freightrain has a built engine and uses good fuel, so he can get away with 40 degrees. The average FE engine combination would have problems with that much timing.
