Yep, your have the same issue as this post discusses. You can drop the ignition switch down and get by with that until you have the desire to take the column apart to replace the broken part (s). Ignition actuator rod or something like that is what broke.

This video isn't quite what I had in mind, but he shows ignition switch removal at around the 2 minute mark (watch the whole thing though). You don't need to remove the plug, only remove the two torx screws he points to that hold the switch. Then leave the switch hanging. To start, slide the steel pin all the way over, and release when the engine starts. The steel pin will spring back when you let go of it, stopping in the run position. To shut down, slide pin back another notch.

This makes your truck really easy to steal, so hopefully you don't live somewhere that's a serious risk. If it is, fix the actuator asap!
