Well at first i thought that it was my power steering pump going out. I got under the truck and looked and could not find a leak. Well come to find out it is leaking where the resivoir meets with the brake booster. My questions is do i need to change out the whole brake booster i can i just change my resivoir? Please help.

IIRC you can buy the booster seperately,no need to buy the m/c too.

If I understand, you are saying the brake fluid reservoir is leaking where it joins the master cylinder. If this is correct you need only buy the master cylinder and not the hydroboost. They are sold separately.

It's doubtfully brake fluid you're leaking if it's the brake booster. Mine was leaking too and it was leaking power steering fluid. I had a mechanic replace it for me. It took about an hour. The metal housing between the firewall and the reservoir needs to be replaced because as far as I know you can't take that apart and replace the seal.

Please someone correct me and educate my if I'm wrong.

If it's p/s fluid, replace the booster.

If it's brake fluid, replace the m/c.

Exactly.
Find out what fluid is going down, then take the appropriate action.

There should only be brake fluid or ATF leaking. You should see the difference in color to know what is leaking.

The brake booster gets its boost from the power steering pump and the power steering pump uses ATF, not power steering fluid.

So if the booster gets it's vacuum from the power steering pump, and atf is leaking from the booster, wouldn't the power steering pump be bad?
Nick

Not vacuum, pressure. We have a vacuum pump for the ESOF because a diesel does not make vacuum like a gas engine.

Okay, so the brake booster gets power from the the power steering pump and vacuum from the vacuum pump.
Thanks, Nick
All these abbreviations drive me nuts!
