just got a 90 F150 that im putting a 92-96 front end on... i was wondering if i can put a 92-96 dash and interior in it... and has anybody ever switched those ugly 2 piece back side windows on an ext cab to the 92-96 ones??
1) you can put on the whole front clip, but you need to swap the radiator support too. Just remember to do that, and if yours is rusted to crap, find a new one.
2) Yes, you can swap interiors. The seats are direct fit, but the dashboards screw into different locations on the cab. There are some minor differences between the cabs. The dash might not be 100% bolt in, you might need to weld in some tabs or drill some holes. Also, you won't be able to swap to the newer instrument cluster because the one you have now is run by a speedo cable, whereas the newer one is run from the VSS, which your truck doesn't have.
3) The windows do not direct fit. The glass is one piece but the divider is actually the cab skin. You have to be fairly good with bodywork to cut it out and make it look seamless.
You might want to just swap entire cabs...or trucks.
