I've read the threads about this radiator coming apart and how scarce replacement radiators can be in the midst of a crisis.
Should I just go ahead and buy one now and store it for that eventful day when I must replace it?
Or, do I just go ahead and replace it on my terms...not during 100+ degree temps in the midst of a family trip? Do the replacements have the same problem?
Also, when it goes, is this a gradual demise or a single, brief catastrophic event...spewing a trail of steam Southbound I-95??
If you are really concerned, pressure test it. I wouldn't consider putting in a new radiator preventive maintenance unless it fails a pressure test or looks really nasty.
