Fence Post Auger

Anyone know where a guy can get one of those hand post hole augers? I need to get one for getting soil samples for installing septic systems, and I figure getting a hand one would work great, alot cheaper then moving the hoe to get one sample!

Anyone have one kicking around they might wanna get rid of?

it might be an idea to rent one for now until you see how much you're going to need one. by renting, you just charge it out accordingly...

United Rentals just has a bobcat mount postOhole auger. The Rent It Store would probably have something smaller to use.

Im talking like a hand one. Has a metal rod with a little round digger bottom on it, and a handle up top.

They sell for dollars at auction sales. Im not even sure a person could rent one out.
All i need for soil samples is about a cup of soil. Those hand augers dig a nice small hole, and are easy to carry around, thats why i was thinking of one!

Ill check there thanks ryan.

Ive used them lots for digging actual fenceposts before and they work slick, especially for the depth i have to go.
I dont think they would be classified as a gardening tool though, but least ya know what im talking about! Youve probably seen a ton of them kicking around at auction sales.

If ya wanna get rid of it Morris, let me know. I might need one sooner then later as every sample I cant get could be 50 bucks - ten grand out of my pocket, so Im gonna need one pretty quick, but I dont have to do another one till next thursday anyways!

A little off topic here but Morris could I borrow a piece from your W4 carberator. I would be taking it to a machine shop and getting one made for myself.
