My air bag light came on on my 02 F250 last night. I figured out the code that was flashing was 27. It means that the passenger side indicator light is not working which it is not now. Wondering if there is an easy fix out there.
Look under your passanger seat and see if the seatbelt wiring had become unplugged. If plugged in unplug it and clean the connections then put back together.
27 is the pasanger seat
26 is the drivers seat.
no everything was fine until last night i put my dp tuner in and was filing on my dash to mount the switch so it was vibrating and it might have shook the indicator light sotter loose someone says
I looked quick and can't find the post that I made before. The airbag system is somehow tied into the seatbelt system. If the wiring is ok then there may be a sensor that has gone bad. I'll try to find the post....
I know this is an older thread, but I just wanted to pull it back up to say thanks to all the guys and gals who post up good information on fixing stuff here.
I did a search and was able to fix the problem with the air bag light being on. I had the 27 code. I replaced the bulb with a LED with a built in resistor from radio shack and all is well with the world again. Total cost, $1.99 plus tax.
I was surprised at how easy it was. The hardest part was getting the radio out. I had to go buy the "tool" to pull the radio. I have pulled them before with just a couple of pieces of wire, but couldn't get this one out without the tool.
There were a bunch of good threads on this repair, but this was one of the more recent ones. The 7.3 forum has saved me a bunch on repairs over the years.
