There isn't necessarily a "main" fuse. However, all of the fuses are on the driver's side, under the steering wheel, by the door. There's a panel with all the fuses behind it.
If you have no power to the truck at all, check your battery cables. They may be corroded. I've had it where my truck is completely dead with a good battery. No lights, no dome, nada. I went out and just tapped the battery terminals. A little spark and everything came right back to life. It was time for new cables.
no its not that all the fuses on the driver side are good i alreday checked them the cables are good the conection on the battery is good its a new battery i just dont know what is wrong
So there's no power at all? No interior lights, no dash lights, nothing? If that's the case, something is stopping your circuit if all of the fuses are good. Are you sure the battery is any good? Be sure all the connections are clean.
If you have no lights at ALL, no nothing, all your fuses are good, your battery is good, your cables are good, etc., then you just don't have a complete circuit. Electricity is not getting from your battery to the rest of the vehicle. You're going to need to carefully inspect connections looking for corrosion, rust, something loose, etc. The electrical systems on an '82 are pretty simple.
look at all your fuse able links on the passanger side by the starter relay they will look like rubber blocks stuck over the wire see if there is any burnt ones also check for power at the amp gauge some times when the burn out everything dies also check connections at the voltage regulater
