It all depends on the model and options. The more it weighs, the less the payload.
For example, my truck with the options listed below has a payload of 1,408 lbs. You can get a Platinum Screw with 4x4 and a 6.5 bed, and it may have a payload of 900 lbs.

There is another thread that talks about this. Just look at the labels on your driver's side door, one gives you tire specs and the other gives you your truck's payload specs. We found by comparing that it could range from 900 lbs to 3200 lbs depending on how your truck (reg/scab/screw/max payload). It was also pointed out that the lawyers may have downgraded max load for legal reasons. My truck has had more then my sticker states and went down the road fine. Chris
