That does have an 1987 number on it but I would go to a salvage yard and get one out of a 1987-88 F-series truck with a 5.0L engine. It should be a truck as close as you can get to yours, same transmission, power steering, Fuel Injected, AC, Map and so on.

Do not worry to much about the numbers as it does not seem like you will be able to get them anyway.

Ebay, rockauto.com, napa, etc, or any junkyard that has a few trucks. If you're in south amboy drive a little north to Rahway, as there are at least four junkyards over there that are likely to have it. Take 35 north into Avenel to where the Home Depot is on the left and K-mart/Pathmark is on the right. At the next light bear to the right - it's a 45 degree turnoff and follow that road to the overpass, and make a right onto Inman. Take that to the end, and you're in "junkyard row". Leesville Auto is there, T&E motors is there, and about five others. Between them they might either have it, or can get it from a remote junkyard for a few dollars.

Take the computer back and tell that it is bad and have them get you another one.
