I want to replace the U-joints front and rear in my truck before winter. I tried to post this earlier, searched for it but don't know what happened to it. Maybe i never posted it or whatnot. But anyway, what would you guys recommend that I get for replacements. Just the normal replacement from a parts store? Or something special? What have you got for me. It's a supercab shortbed 4x4.
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
That's it for mods now, saving for a Stang. Check out my Gallery for a look-see.
well i've done alot of ujoints...stick away from cheap store replacements...they are just that..cheap. and the worst thing in the world is a broken ujoint on the highway at seventy miles an hour. Trust me..its happened to me. I'd recomend either dana spicer ujoints or precision joints...i've had great luck with both. Dana spicer ones are kinda hard to find...but precision can be found at any federated parts store.
Friend of mine with a jeep, lost a front U-joint on the highway at 90mph, and the shaft cut fuel lines, broke the bell housing, and actually broke the front axle shaft.
