Grease U-Joints

All my U-joints on 04 F 250 4x4 don't have zerks. In manual it says grease front axle joints at 15,000 miles. Are all these U-Joints sealed and not meant to be greased? Don't tell me you can stick a needle dohickey in there and grease them. Whats the story, wait till they fail and replace with zerked U-joints? Thanks

My 04 is the same way. Really all you can do is replace them when they fail.

Mine did not have any zerks. From what i learned in auto mech when i was in high school was that these are "Permantly Lubed" when they are sealed and that it was a bunch of BS. So I think you wait for them to fail then replace them with the zerked fittings.

Is there any well informed gearhead here who knows why the U-joints don't have zerks on them? On a 30M-50M $$$$ truck, you'd think a ten cent zerk wouldn't be a big deal ! It seems to me that for those of us who are faithful to maintenance, U-joint could last almost indefinitely.
