Welcome to Ford-Truck Enthusiasts!

Which cab configuration do you have? The controller/module (KEM) is usually on the back wall of the truck. If you have the screw or scab you'll have to remove the rear-seat (the back portion) to find it. There should be a label on it when you find it.

Here was an earlier article on removing the seat: https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...2008_F150.html (It also mentions finding the KEM.)

Yeah you have to take off the seat and the back panel. It is behind the back panel. Search for a post about the way to take it off.

I just took mine to the local dealer. They did a quick scan and gave me the factory code. They didn't charge me anything, but I'm not saying that another dealer wouldn't. A lot easier than trying to take the damn back seat off.

probably wouldn't hurt to ask your purchasing dealer to do a scan in the PCM for it...especially if you just bought the truck
