Bought my first ford a couple weeks ago. 2004 F-350 Lariat super duty 4X4 with power stroke diesel. Don't think I'll ever switch back to GMC ever again. The truck was brought up from the US so the dealer doesn't know the unlock code for the keypad. Checked the manual and it says it is located on the wallet card. No wallet card in dash with manual. Manual also says that the code is stamped on the computer module. My question is where is the comp module and is the unlock code really located there? Thanks
Code is located in the computer, take it to a dealer and have them hook it up and get the code for you. Had to do the same thing when I bought mine.
I had them do this at the same time I was getting a warranty flash update and it didn't cost anything.
Some dealers will try to charge you for this. The module is located on the firewall behind the Radio/AC controls. It's hard to see but if you can contort your body just enough to lay down and look up under the dash you can see it.
Sounds like whoever you were talking to at the dealer doesn't know that the techs can hook up to the computer and read the code. If it's convenient just go back to the dealer and talk to someone in the shop about getting the code.
Otherwise you can find it yourself, it is printed on the label for the computer module which is located behind the radio down low at the firewall so you will have to move some wires and insulation out of the way to see it.
mine is a 2005 f-350, but should be the same. if you take out the trash hook, radio,or cup holder you will be able to get at it. Lie on your back and just above the radio will be the CP module. I had to move white foam sound damping insulation out of the way. There will be a sticker on the CP module with a bunch of info on it. You are looking for the 5 digit code, will be in big bold numbers on the sticker. Took me about 15 min. to get at it , but well worth it! Chat back if need any other info.
