Hey guys, well i started having problems with it lightly chattering while lightly acceleration, so i flushed it out and changed the oil and filter, when i dropped the pan down this little plastic piece came out with the fluid. It looks like this..."looks like a small ball cut in half with a small shaft comming out of the backside of it, on the half ball side it had a little plastic looking seal on it, the whole thing is plastic, but the seal is black. Now my truck slips between gears if i dont shift it manualy, and it sometimes acts like it has a stall converter or slips out of gear. I have checked the linkage, its fine, i have checked the fluid, its fine too, im one of those "Do it myself" who dosent have any money ( im 17 and work in a store) so any help would be great.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Sep-02 AT 07:15 PM (EST)]There is a place for that piece you found. In the trash!
When the transmission was built the dipstick wasn't installed. They put a plastic plug in the hole where the dipstick would later be inserted.
At the truck plant the transmission is installed in the truck, then the dipstick is pushed into place. The plug is pushed into the pan, waiting to be thrown away when the first ATF change happens.
As for the slipping you either don't have the filter installed correctly, or you used the wrong fluid. The E4OD requires MERCON, not MERCON V, and not a fluid that has both MERCON and MERCON V ratings.
