DP vs. TW vs. Banks vs. ?????

I have always heard only the best from the Dp tuner. Lately i have been hearing some more about the tony wildman chips. I have only been able to go with what i have read so far and would like some of you guys actual experience with them. I Have delt with the edge evo and was not too impressed with it. Also seen a superchips and was that was not good either. How about banks? I have always know they have one of the bigeest names in diesels but have never know anyone to own a six-gun due to the cost. I want the best of the best and need some help.

There are a lot of tuners out there. Funny thing is, the more they advertise the less they deliver. DP-Tuner, Tony Wildman, PHP, DI, Swamps, they can all give you much more power. There are even a few others. Myself, the best power and tranny shifting came from DP and that is after trying TS and Swamps. Swamps was good on the power, close on the shifting, but the idle sucked rear end with their own injectors. Now my idle is better, but may be too rich to make it that way. Crap. This tuning stuff is not easy. Wish I could adjust my own.

I had an off the shelf TS chip and had Tony reburn it with his tunes man what a world of difference. I have a Transgo tugger shift kit in the truck and with his tunes on the truck I like how it shifts. The power is unreal and in my street tune from him I hit 34lbs of boost(not sure how much with the extreme tune yet I have not tested it). But the difference in power is really night and day 140 tune from TS could not hold up to the
economy tune from Tony. Bottom line you can't go wrong with either Tony, Jody or Bill.

I had the Superchip, now someone else on here has it untill he gets the DP-TUNER. I have the DP and I like it. But like said above, there are a couple more tuners that can tune our trucks.

Jody, Bill and Tony all will BLOW AWAY anything you get from Edge, Banks, or Superchips, bottom line.

I am happy with my PHP Phoenix, I have also used his Minotaur Tuning software to tweak his Tunes to my liking. YES, Bill allows you to access and modify his tunes for your own use... one thing to keep in mind with DP-Tuner is that his tunes and chips are locked/Encrypted so no one else can add tunes to his chips or modify the tunes... Bills software will allow you to write tunes to any TS chip... I think everyone is using TS chips except Jody.... Just food for thought... You will be happy with any of them ... I had a single position superchip in the truck when I bought it and can tell you there is an obvious difference between a custom tune and a national brand tuner

I'm a happy DP tuner user. I can't comment on how it compares to anything else, but it sure woke up my stock truck!

I now have 9 tunes on my Dp-tuner F-5 switch. I like the idea that I can go to any tune I want with a push of a button. I don't know how the other tuners work, but I'm sure they are about the same.

I like my SCT that I've had for 3 years now, but with this months DP-Tuner sale, I'm taking the plunge this month.

Funny thing you say that. There is a compay alled sniper that does just that. I would do that myslef but it seems to involve more time than i have so im going with a tuner that a plug in unit. It almost 1000 dollars fot the system though and you must have your own laptop

Seems like everyone is pretty even on whats the best. Seems as though its just a matter of what i want to buy. I have herd so much about Dp and will most likely in the end go with it. I also have heard so much about banks and how the tuner makes high levels of power with hardly any smoke at all but im going witht the the guys with hands on experience not a flyer

Another option for self tuning is the TwEECer:

The TwEECer -- EEC-IV user programmable module

I was considering it but will likely go with an F5 from DP Tuner. The learning curve is big, so why re-invent the wheel when I can go with something already proven.
