im thinking about putting the add a leaf leveling kit on my 2003 Ford F250 has anyone done this if so how long did it take you, how hard was it to put in, and did your truck ride any rougher
I personally didn't like the outcome of the add-a-leaf up front. I later moved mine to the rear and installed a mini spring pack up front. You will need lots of clamps and patience to install the add-a-leaf due to the stiffness and the huge arch it makes in the relaxed stage.
I just finished installing an add-a-leak kit, but not in front. That was for the back. For the front I installed a kit with a new set of front springs. I'm really impressed with how improved the ride and handling is. I think if you go with an add-a-leaf in the front, you won't get that. What you will get is a stiffer ride. You gotta pull the springs out anyway. Why not replace just them.
Stock shocks are supposed to work with the mini spring pack because the pack installs under the shock mount moving the shock body up with it instead of just stretching it out.
i used tuff countrys 1'' front add a leaf on my truck and i love it. no more saggy front end or body roll. plus it rides a thousand times better, its stiff but not back breaking. also had a spring shop make me a long payload spring for the rear, towing has never been better. the truck should have come from the factory this way also put on a dually camper leaf instead of my stock one its twice as thick and handles weight much much better
