I purchased a 2002 250 a couple weeks ago. I'm trying to get my travel trailer out of the back yard and it is wet. I tried to lock the hubs in and can not get them to budge. I also tried to remove the center cap with no luck.
How does the center cap fit? Slide on twist on? I tried to pry it off but will damage the wheel if I push any harder.
The hubs are not marked like the later models. I tried to push them in and they won't. I tried to twist them both left and right. What am I missing other than they are probably seized up?
To get the center cap off without damaging the wheel, the lug wrench on my 06 has a rubber end you use to pop them off. Dont know if a 2002 has that.
It should, if not a screwdriver will work fine.
NXGTS- do you have a lever shift 4x4 or a **** on the dash? If you have the **** you may not need to lock the hubs at all, you have ESOF (elec. shift on the fly) 4x4. The locking hubs are mostly a back-up in case the vacuum system fails. Turn the switch to 4x4 high, if the light comes on and the vents don't go to defrost you're fine. I'd get those hubs removed and cleaned up though- check out guzzle's web site for more info. If they can't be saved, upgrade to Warn premiums (no more ESOF if you do this though).
