c6 transmission slipping
I have a 1990 rv with the 460 and a c6 3 speed trans. the trans always shifts through the gears ok, but will slip a bit about 40 mph, then will smooth out. Yesterday, after running great in the morning, at some point about 50 or 55mph I could hear the engine rpms rise as the trans started slipping. I slowed down to 50 concerned about rpms. I changed the fluid and filter after the last trip and they both looked brand new. the fluid level is fine now, perhaps a half quart high. any ideas? I pulled the hose off the vacuum modulator looking for fluid, but it was dry. that's the extent of my trans skills.
