Well started my spring swap today. Worked about 3.5 hours on the passenger side. Almost back together. Its slow going by yourself. But I stopped because I think I found part of my wander problem. The dog bone bushings were shot. Haven't been able to find the replacement parts yet. Do know they are going to be 70-75 bucks each. Haven't pulled the drivers side dog bone off yet but just seems like if I change one side I should do both sides. Anyway I will find the parts in the morning and finish the swap. Can't wait to hook up the TT for a test pull with the new springs.
Yahoo!!!! I'm done. Worked about 2hrs today. Finished up the passenger side then moved on to the drivers. Only took about 1.5 hrs on the drivers side. Ride is a little firmer but not intolerable. Took a short drive on the hwy and the wander seems to be gone. The true test will be next week when I hook up the TT. The dog bones are sway bar links. I ended up getting them from one of the local Ford dealers. This one deals only in trucks so almost always has what I need in stock. Part #s are 1C3Z-5K483-BA List price $69.98
1C3Z-5K483-BB List Price $76.65
I already have a Helwig sway bar and RAS system installed on the rear which had raised the rear about .75 inches. The springs raised the front about 1.5 inches so it sit about level now. So far I am satisfied with the results but will post again in this thread after I tow with it. Thanks to everyone who has ever posted directions to their install, they were invaluable. John
Just got back from camping this weekend. About a 200 mile round trip tow. Good news and kick myself in the butt news. First the good news is that the wander is much better. The kick myself news is that I had the tires rotated and balanced last week. Forgot they put the air pressure that Ford recommends in tires. 45psi in the front and 55 psi in the rear. I had been towing with 60 in the front and 70 in the rear. No wonder it felt wishy washy and still had some wander. I found the ticket for the rotation in the truck after I returned home. It is still better than it was and I am confident it will be all but gone when the tires are properly inflated. Unfortunately it will be several more weeks before I will have the opportunity to try.
Ford part numbers for the sway bar end-link bushings are:
Left side: 1C3Z-5K483-BA (List price $69.98)
Right side: 1C3Z-5K483-BB (List Price $76.65)
Thanks.

Anyone use the Moog and/or Raybestos parts for this job? Rock Auto shows either of those to be about $20-25 cheaper per side. I'm all for saving some coin as long as I'm not shorting myself on the quality front.

I have the moog. If I had to do it again, I would get just the new bushings. The bolt on the moog is smaller than the hole in the frame and no matter how tight I get it, it will still pop on uneven turns.
