I'm broken down about 75 miles from all my tools. Is there an alternative to a $300 towing bill? I've tried to find a car dolly but they seem to top out at 4,300 lbs, not quite enough for a 3/4 ton pickup. Any help would be great.
4300 total for the towed vehicle or on the dolly itself? I've towed heavier stuff than that with a dolly including a fullsize dodge van and a 68 Fairlane (OK maybe not quite 4300 on that one). I say go for it.
I brought a 75 F250 home on a dolly. This was back in the day before I owned a trailer, or a tow truck. Nice to have the luxuries now, but the regular old dolly worked. You have to watch out for some of them as a few are not wide enough for the full width front axle.
make sure the dolly is wide enough and throw that darn truck on there strap it down and tow it. 4300lbs is what the dolly is rated at and theres no way the front of your truck is 4300lbs. remember the only weight on the dolly is the front end of your truck.
