Oh man, that was awesome...I would not have known where to start to find that out...thanks, by the way, the twin eye beam suspension in the other post took me a minute to get but that was halarious...I don't know why ford didn't pursue that! I had to leave that for now cause it was holding the gas tank up

All GM G bodies were coil spring 4 bar rears as well as the big GM cars Impalla etc. so they are out. What does the front susp look like? That would be a big help.

I can get some pics of the front suspension also, but the pic the guy put on of the 63 galaxy frame looks just like it...What does tubeing the frame mean? I am guessing shorting this frame is out of the question...What is more costly you think, fixing this frame for a F1 bed or just buying a F1 frame and swapping out the usable stuff..

I don't even know what can be used or what can't...(like rearend) Speaking of putting wheels on it, we have got a nice set of 20s that would look awesome...I will be glad to hear any suggestions, sort off don't know what to do

i would keep the frame you have, thats just me tho. you have a nice built in c-notch, that would be good if your going to put 20's on it.
tubeing the frame is replacing certain pieces of frame with metal tubing(or all of it for that matter). i think it looks good, i'm doing it to the rear of my frame where i'm putting in a C-notch, gonna make cross members out of tubing to hold the air bags.
depending on how far you wanna go, any rear end will work(with modification hehe)
i'm putting a triangulated four link on, so i'll be cutting off the old leaf springs and shackles. so in short, anything is possible.

what are some major plans you wanna do? more of a stock resto, or prostreet, or a little more extream... air ride and what not...?

As i have mentioned before, I don't know much about this, so that is why I am here asking all these questions...Most of questions I ask are most likely basic information amoung you guys, but I feel like having a plan or idea will help me in the long run on this project...

I only have a few things I want for the truck....I would like to have disc brakes, power stering, and maybe air...I will leave the 289 in it also, the power don't really matter to me, I just want it to be drivable, and handle ok...Not making a show truck just something to go out on the weekends, maybe take to local stuff, that sort of thing.

Another thing that has been brought up to me by some people around here is putting a 327 in it out of a chevelle...I don't know if you can mention chevy motors on here or not? My father-in-law is putting a 396 in his and he is going to have a perfect 327 sitting around...I guess it could be done, but I don't know

well, i've got s cheby block in my ford (were called darksiders lol)
but i would keep the 289, had one in a 64 fairlane. you can get alot of horsepower out of them motors, you'll be happy with it.

oh, anytime you have any kind of question, just start a new thread, know one will care if you start threads alot(you gotta find out some how)

i think i missread your previous post, i wrote about toobing, when i think u ment tubing, lol. anyway, tubing is narrowing your rear axle and running some wide *** rim/tires on the back.

if you want it to handle well and have disc brakes you should think about doing a front clip swap,.. something like a Mustang II or Volare front A-arms. Mines off a camaro, it was a bitch, so i dont suggest that lol.
my power steering came from an old GMC truck, it fit quite nicely.
but if i were you, i would start a new thread askin questions about each individual thing as you come to it in your build. good luck.

So the first thing that needs to be decided is the frame..I am guessing that with what I got here I have more easy options with wheels and tires...but I am guessing the frame is too high over the wheels for the bed to set at the right height...also you mentioned the mustang 2 stuff for the front end...you think it will work on this frame?

I think I just need to get settled on frame choices and go from there...oh, and by the way, anyone know what the wheelbase should be on this if it is a galaxy frame, if I knew I could see how close it is to the f1s mesurements, just so I could tell someone when they looked at it about working on it....thanks
