I was Traveling on I80(rough road) in California heading to NV towing a TT. This morning I got a trailer wiring problem warning display on the message/milage panel on the dash. The controller gain setting panel stayed steady green, while the message was displayed Using the manual brake apply, brakes seem to work fine on the trailer.
The only problem I can find is the 7way plug in on the trailer had a bent up female terminal on the left brake light circuit. Although when I checked the brake lights they were working.
Will this trip the diagnostic circuit on the controller? Or show I keep looking.
Thanks for your help

The Ford controller is a smart critter and will give a fault signal if the braking system does not properly sense the trailer.
Given that you were running over some rough roads, I'll bet that there is (or was) and intermittent connection. This usually is on on in the trailer wiring.
Yea, you do want to check for ground issues on trailers every so often as they are quite prone to happen. I have a flatbed that is almost constantly giving me issues on that.
