Auto Transmission Question
I'm sure this thread is a repeat, but the manual says that I should change my auto transmission fluid every 30K miles. I missed this last time and now I am creeping up on 60K. I am going to have this done, but I have always heard and practiced just having the fluid dropped, screen changed, and go. i was always told NEVER TO FLUSH. What do you guys recommend for the 07 F-250? thanks! Also, it mentions the external filter element, is this the silver housing up near the radiator? Should this be done by Transmission folks or can I do? I have changed every other filter and consider myself very mechanical, I just don't do tranny work due to the mess. Thanks Again.

I always flush mine. (more $ but get complete exchange of fluid)
The fiter by the radiator is an easy change,unscrew it,replace the filter, (looks like a roll of TP) screw back together. nothing to it.

If you change your own fluid, you will find you can not drain the torque converter...no plug. Bite the bullet and let dealer flush it with good old Mercon SP. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER FLUID.
