Did you ever post the description and part number of the self sticking tape you got at Pep Boys for the door gaskets? If you did I missed it somewhere. If you still have that info please post it. I looked at Pep Boys and saw something like you are talking about but would like to be sure. What I looked at was about $7.99 for a 1 inch wide roll. Thanks. Larry.
This is the Pep Boys stuff. Kinda pricy at about $3.00/ft and it will take three packs to do one door. Works well, though:
i've had very bad luck with autoloc solenoids, i've burnt up 4 or 5 about 5 years ago. called autoloc and the ones i had(80lb pull) were not ment for everyday use, they wernt even supposed to be used but once or twice a week. ????(at least thats what they said was the reason they were burning up) the autoloc guy told me the larger the lb rating the less it should be used.
so, for the past 5 years, all my trucks have recieved ford explorer solenoids, they work very well, and are very reliable.(when do you ever here of someones door lock actuator not working? not often) and they have been in my 52 for about 4 years.
