As for my day...just lots of errands...banks...shopping...transfer station...laundry...mowed my fathers lawn...mowed my lawn...cleaning...etc. Now I'm watching some of the Bawston sports teams...and...enjoying a Sammys Boston Lager!!!
During the regulatory shutdown, I was on staff and I was the lead on the balance of plant "painting" procedure & specification development, while Frank Chamberlain had the lead for the nuclear areas.
I was the one who discovered the laps in the coatings & linings quality assurance program since the departure of Stone & Webster at the end of construction.
Brain failure I believe that the short lived VP of Engineering ??? was fired in part for ignoring the discovery letter that the two of use had co-authored.
Then Millstone hired a grey-beard consultant and let out a contract to have the station painted out for its eventual sale.
OK, I'm going to loose a few of you, but here it goes. I remember Chaimberlin coming to me with that new procedure 'construction' came up with. He needed QC review and approval. I read it and said, 'are you sure you want to do this? because it will turn off all our 'house' inspectors certifications and you will not be able to paint and get inspections'? He said yes and I signed it. Then I told the boss we can't support any painting projects because the requirements changed. That is when George Spires (grey haired man) showed up, along with KTA Tator. KTA Tator's P.O. was through Engineering and engineering didn't know how to work with inspectors. I found the guys hidden in a closet on the 2nd floor of the 475 bldg, complaining about issues they had but couldn't get resolution. That is when QC took the KTA-Tator inspectors away from Engineering and we ran them. Eventually Dick Martin from Altran was brought in to work with George Spires and together they re-wrote the coatings specs and it's all history. After George left QC contracted Dick Martin to develop a training and certification program for us and we were re-certified (I as a Level III). After that, KTA went away and we saved the company 1 million a year for several years. Now all we do is touch-up. So you see, we probably know each other. It's a small world. Hope to meet you again.

No kid should have to deal with an abusive addict in their household. (I know)
He's not even married to the mom, but she's enabling it.
Mother and daughter were both gone last night when I pulled up to the garage that I have a room over.
So he unleashes on me in the driveway.
Don't worry about me, I've dealt with worse.
As for me, when someone who can't even stand starts telling me they're going to kill me and is kicking my dog I'm outta there. (before I finish it...for good)
I have taken the job boxes out of my P/U but I still probably have 5 loads to erase all traces.
F's up my job prospects for the next few days. I was just getting some work rolling too. *sigh*
Here I am still in Virginia. Just called the wife, the power is out so the house phone doesn't work. I got her on the cell. A truck hit the next pole down the street and the wires are on the ground crossing our driveway. No problem, the utility company is there working Over Time.
