I just put gauges on my truck, my EGT at the manifold reads as high 1400... I'm running ID extreme street, 4 in turbo back exhaust, studs, zoodad.. Here's My question; do you think my intercooler is plugged with oil? 1400 degrees seems hot
If the intercooler is plugged, is there a way to clean it?
Is 1400 WOT or spinning down the highway at 1800 rpm.I have seen 1600+ for short 10 second burst with a crazy ultra comp that Matt made for me, I don't run that tune any more.

That is normal with a performance tune.If you hold it up there for 3-5 minutes the motor will de-fuel once the heat gets into the oil.I should extended high EGTs will decrease engine life span.
You indicated you are studded. Do you still have your EGR cooler/valve? Have you rerouted you CCV so it doesn't go into the intake, or at least isn't filtered before going into the intake? If not, then you definitely will have oil in your intercooler. I don't think it will be plugged but the oil reduces the efficiency of the intercooler. So it's definitely not helping you if this is the case.

Ya, EGR system went on vacation and she has ARP's
No CCV mod yet, not sure which CCV reroute is best...

You probably should have added that it isn't exactly safe to be at over 1350 for more than 10-15 seconds
Do the CCV reroute yourself, or buy one. They all work. There is a write-up in the tech folder I believe if you haven't found it yet.
Have fun out there
Also as far as cleaning goes. I highly doubt its clogged. There might be a little bit in there. You could just pull it off and blow some air through it.
FWIW i lost my original stock IC due to it being really clogged with oil. Also the Intake Manifold was super oily so I had it cleaned. Also the only way the shop noticed the oil was when they removed it from the boost tubes, there wasn't even any oil residue around the boots.
I drained the IC on both of the trucks that I have studded, both 04 with 100000+ miles. Got a couple table spoons out of both.If you want to get it out the rad has to come out to get the cooler out. There would have to be a ton of blow by past the rings to put any amount of oil in the IC.
