I have an 04 F350 that has crappy low end power and I ran a KOER test on it and a p0299, p1408, and a p2263 codes come up. before i start diagnosing this do you think they are related to each other? What do you think could be causing this. Im looking at the PID's and I am not getting any EGR readings at all. The EGR DC is always reading 0 with the truck running. Am I crazy or is this a common problem?
I am willing to bet that you have a turbo and/or EGR issue(s). I am having the P0299 issue with my truck and it has had the turbo cleaned once so Iam not sure what is going on now. Most likely I need a new turbo. Any rate I am still under warranty so it will only cost me 100.00
The 1408 is egr flow code, and the other 2 are turbo boost related codes. Have you pulled the egr valve out to look at it and see how much crud is on it.
Is it under warranty if so get it in and have them work on it for the 100.00 deductable.
I will have to call Ford and see if it is under warranty. I seriously doubt it. I will pull the EGR valve and see if it is nasty. I might have to get the tool to pull it or make one cuz it says not to pry on it. I might just go ahead and pull the turbo and see whats going on. A friend of mine told me the 6.0 is supposed to make a whining noise when running but I dont hear anything. I am used to the 7.3's. Thanks for the reply!!!
You don't really need a tool. Just some strong wire and a bar or pipe to pull up with. As for a whining noise... I'm not really sure what he's talking about. Unless he means the turbo whistle there's nothing that whines.
Well Ive pulled off the egr valve and it was pretty sooted but as far as a lot of crud..........not really. I cleaned it up and put it back in but the 1408 code comes back. You guys think i should just replace it? or is there a way to test it off the truck?
