Bed Bolt Sizes
Does anyone know the size of the bolts holding the bed on ?
I am replacing the Styleside for a Flareside and wanted to replace the bolts without going to Ford.
I need thread and length.

They take a #55 Torx bit for the bolts. The two bolts up by the cab are the longest. (One on each frame rail.) The four back by the tailgate (two on each frame rail) are the same length but shorter than the two up front. Sorry I'm not sure of the thread or length needed but you should be able to get matching sizes at a good hardware store that has grade 8 bolts and washers. I replaced some of mine about 4 years ago. The ones on your truck may be metric also.

the bed bolts are metric, almost 1/2-13 threads since you can get an english tap to go close to 3 turns. perhaps 12mm or 13mm whichever is common in a coarse thread. I don't have a tap that size otherwise i'd give you the numbers. the long ones are almost 81/2 long on the boy's ranger, the others 6 1/2
