o/d gone
after a 40 mi trip home from work,i always let the truck cool down for a couple min.(2001sd dually w/7.3 and e4o/d tranny). yesterday when i shifted out of d to p the engine reved,the speedo was jumping,and my o/d light was flashing. wtf?? today i drove to work as usual,and when i left the tranny wouldnt shift to o/d . help!!! its a long ride with no o/d

The OD light is flashing because the computer has seen a problem with the transmission, it has set a code in its memory. This code will be the first step in trouble shooting the problem, get the codes and post them up and we can steer you in the right direction.

Shortbed, you definitely need to get those codes, code scanners aren't that expensive now days and are definitely a good investment. I had much the same problem, it felt like I was driving with one foot on the brake. Sucked fuel down like it was a toilet flushing and high speeds were near impossible. There's several guys on the forum that really know there stuff when it comes to tranny's so I'm not going to try and give you any advice. It can be a night mare to track down the problem I will say that. Good luck
