Sporadic stalling while driving, warning lights reset.
Well guys and gals I have been having an issue lately. While I was driving on the highway last week my truck completely shut off! I pulled over to the shoulder and attempted to fire her back up, It will start up and run a few seconds and then die again. Repeated this about 5 times and then it stood on, drove home with no issues. This morning I had the same issue again and the wait to start light comes on as well as some other warning lights. The first thing I noticed was that the tach dies with all the warnig lights coming on when this happens. Is this a dreaded cps issue? I replaced it with a blue one last year and still have the old black one in the glove box. I will be changing out today and see what happens, Any other things I should look at? Thanks in adance to all.

Do the warning lights come on before the engine stops turning, or do they finally come on when everything has stopped?
Reason I am asking is if the lights come on the instant the tach drops, that tells me that the CPS is not the culprit, but rather a power loss of some sort.
OTOH, if all the lights stay out until the engine comes to a stop and then come on, 99% it's a bad CPS.

Dan, I think I figures it out. I went to my truck to switch out the cps to my old black one to try it out. Fired right up as usual, got about one block and it died! It would not restart so I decided to check it out there before I would call Autoclub to pick me up. Looked at all the obvious and noticed again while cranking that the lights were acting funny on the cluster. I decided to pull off a chip that was on the ecm the previous owner had installed and it started right up! Idrove 50 miles and no issues yet. If this is the cause I will be ordering Dptuner real soon. Onec again, Thanks for all the advise guys.
Thanks for the update Carlos. We like to hear back about what fixes the problem. Removing that chip was good thinking. It may have worked loose. If you miss the extra power try reseating it.
