Hello, I have a ford f150 V8FI with bad fuel pumps in both tanks. This is the 2nd time I replaced the pumps and filters. Due to financial reasons, my goal is to run the truck with one tank. Can anyone advice me of a reliable pump manufacture? I am also going to install the pump this time. Can any one give me some tips in the installation?
<o></o> Please advice, George
how long ago did you replace your pumps, seems weird that both went bad again.first thing i would check is the inertia switch to make sure it's not tripped then check the oil pressure switch to make sure it working properly, them check your relay to make sure it functioning.my pumps are the same ones ford put in there and still work.there could be a couple of reasons those pumps quit.work with us ,we should be able to get this narrowed down.B.P.

Thaks for your respond,
The rear pump when bad after few months of opperation. The side front gas tank pump went out a few month after. I have not been able to use it after that. I will check all the items you kindly point out.
I thank you for your input and I will keep you you informed,
The front fuel pump went down on my '95 F150 and I replaced it with a Carter pump from NAPA. It's working great for me.
Yes, FORD is the way to go. The pumps did not last very long. I must point out that I did replace the strainer and filter. The pumps I used were from autozone. One pump was with the full assembly and the other was just with the hardware. At that time, I was just in a budget and I could not afford to pay the best part. I learned my lesson well. I will go Ford or maybe Carter?
I am trying to buy the correct pump for my front tank. Since I do not have the stamp on the door I truly do not which of the two capacity tanks I have. By simply looking, Is there a way to tell the tanks apart?
